   Areas of scientific research:
 - selection work to create new breeds and hybrids of the silkworm;
 - preservation of the collection of silkworm genetic resources, which currently includes 122 breeds of silkworms of various geographical origins;
 - systematization of collection breeds of silkworms based on the use of DNA technologies;
 - monitoring of the epizootic situation of the main infectious and invasive diseases of the silkworm, development of modern methods for their diagnosis;
 - development and implementation of a comprehensive system for the prevention and control of mono- and associated infections and microsporidian invasion in grain production and in the breeding farms of silkworms and oak silkworms;


 – international cooperation in the field of sericulture;
 – development of modern express methods for quality control of silkworm culture at all stages of its development;
 – maintenance of collections of silkworm genetic resources and the mulberry gene pool of the NSC "IECVM";
 – carrying out medical, preventive and health-improving measures at sericulture plants and silkworm breeding farms in Ukrainian silk farms;
 – development of scientific, methodological and practical recommendations for conducting state control of sericulture and research of silkworm patmaterial for the purpose of diagnosing diseases.

 – selection of new high-yielding fruit, fodder and decorative mulberry varieties;
 – preservation of the mulberry gene pool of Ukraine;
 – application of express methods for assessing the quality of seeds and grafting material;


 – study of genetic mechanisms of the reaction of organisms to electromagnetic radiation;
 – conducting surveys of fodder and fruit mulberry plantations and their phytosanitary assessment;
 – development of systems for the formation, cultivation, and propagation of mulberry and fruit crops.
