Areas of scientific research:

  • serum antibodies detection for serological diagnosis of Newcastle disease and diseses, caused by other paramyxoviruses, avian influenza, infectious laryngotracheitis, infectious bronchitis, Gumboro disease, reovirus infection, adenovirus infection, egg drop syndrome, duck virus hepatitis, as well as mycoplasmosis and salmonellosis (Scope of Accreditation due to the Certificate №2Н1327 in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2006);


  • detection of causative agents of Newcastle disease and other paramyxoviruses, avian influenza, infectious laryngotracheitis, infectious bronchitis, Gamboro disease, reovirus infection, adenovirus infection, egg drop syndrome, duck virus hepatitis, as well as mycoplasmosis, salmonellosis and neisseriosis (Scope of Accreditation due to the Certificate №2Н1327 in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2006);
  • diagnostic necropsy (Scope of Accreditation due to the Certificate №2Н1327 in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2006);
  • identification of bacterial and fungal contaminants in feed and fodder (Scope of Accreditation due to the Certificate №2Н1327 in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2006);
  • antibiotic sensitivity testing, the bacteriostatic and bactericidal action of antibiotics testing (Scope of Accreditation due to the Certificate №2Н1327 in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2006);
  • wild and domestic birds surveillance for ortho- and paramyxoviruses in Ukraine
  • identification of poultry bacterial and viral pathogens; neuraminidase and hemagglutinins subtyping of influenza virus; paramyxoviruses serotyping;


  • final diagnoses and confirmation of diagnoses of the presence of pathogen by serological and virogical methods or by the methods of molecular diagnostic;
  • determination of the pathogenicity of isolates of the influenza virus and Newcastle disease;
  • collection and storage of isolated and reference bacterial cultures, viruses and cell lines, and also reference standart reagents;
  • development and manufactoring of test-systems for detection of viral and bacterial patogens of poultry (hemagglutination-inhibition, immunodiffusion and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay);
  • participation in international proficiency testings for virological, bacteriological and serological diagnosis of birds pathogens;
  • provision of consulting services to laboratory specialists in the field of veterinary medicine, organisation of seminars and trainings.
